Never use random strings for clothing SKUs. Build a logical formula: [STYLE]-[COLOR]-[SIZE]. For example, a Women's V-Neck in Maroon, size Small, should be `WVN-MAR-SML`. Use our Code 128 Generator to encode these alphanumeric strings into scannable barcodes.
Every garment needs two labels. The physical cardboard Hang Tag attached to the shirt (used by retail cashiers and for returns), and the thermal Polybag Sticker applied to the outside of the protective clear plastic bag (used by warehouse pickers to fulfill online orders).
When formatting your label layout, the Size (S, M, L, XL) should be the largest, boldest text on the sticker. Pickers are often pulling from a bin that contains identical red shirts; the only difference is the size. Making the size instantly readable prevents sending the wrong fit to a customer.
