Ultimate Guide & FAQ: Bulk Barcode Generation

📦 E-Commerce & Amazon FBA

How to Generate Barcodes to Sell Products on Amazon (FNSKU)?

Every product sent to an Amazon fulfillment center requires a scannable barcode. Amazon uses its own internal system called an FNSKU (Fulfillment Network Stock Keeping Unit). If you choose to print your own labels rather than paying Amazon to do it, our platform makes it instant: Export your FNSKU list from Amazon Seller Central as a .csv file. Navigate to our Excel Data Source tab, upload your file, select Code-128 as your format, set your dimensions (e.g., 50x30mm), and click Download PDF Roll.

How Do I Create a Retail Barcode for a Brand New Product?

To get your product onto retail shelves (like Walmart or Target), you cannot just make up a random number. You must purchase a registered prefix from GS1. After assigning your unique 12 or 13-digit identification numbers to your products, open our Workspace and select UPC-A (for North America) or EAN-13 (for Global). Paste your numbers or upload via Excel to generate your labels.

⚙️ Using the Platform (Data Import)

How Do I Generate Barcodes from an Excel Spreadsheet?

Stop typing SKUs manually. Our batch engine can process up to 50,000 rows instantly in your browser without any software installation. Your first row should contain headers. We recommend structuring your .xlsx or .csv with a 'SKU' column, an optional 'Title' column, and an optional 'Qty' column. Once uploaded, our system will read the Qty column and automatically generate individual barcode labels ready to print in a continuous roll.

How Do I Create a Sequential Barcode List (Asset Tagging)?

If you are tagging hardware, warehouse bins, or internal assets, you don't need an Excel file. Use our Sequence Tool. Enter your department or item code prefix (e.g., IT-DEPT-), choose your start and end range (e.g., 1 to 500), and choose your padding. The system will instantly generate IT-DEPT-001 to IT-DEPT-500.

Are the Exported PDFs Compatible with Thermal Printers?

Yes. Unlike basic generators that force you to use standard 8.5x11" Avery office paper, our platform is built for logistics. When you configure your Physical Dimensions (e.g., Width: 50mm, Height: 30mm), our engine generates a continuous, single-column PDF perfectly calibrated for modern thermal printers like Rollo, Zebra, Dymo, and Brother.

Can I Edit Previous Barcodes Without Using My Plan Limits?

Yes! Every batch you generate is securely logged in your Dashboard History. If you realize you need the font to be slightly larger, or you want to export as a ZIP instead of a PDF, go to your Dashboard, click on the past generation record to enter the Edit History Workspace, adjust the dimensions or fonts, and re-download. This is completely free and does not deduct from your monthly generation limits.

🔣 Symbologies (Barcode Types)

What is the Difference Between Code-128, UPC-A, and EAN-13?

Code-128: The most robust and popular choice for internal logistics, warehouses, and Amazon FBA. It supports Alphanumeric characters (e.g., BOX-A12).
UPC-A: The standard retail barcode for North America. It only accepts numbers and must be exactly 11 or 12 digits long.
EAN-13: The global retail standard (used outside of North America). It only accepts numbers and must be exactly 12 or 13 digits long.
