What is the difference between a SKU and a UPC?
A UPC (Universal Product Code) is a globally recognized 12-digit number purchased from GS1, used to sell products in major retail stores. A SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) is an internal code created by your own business to track inventory in your specific warehouse or store. SKUs can contain letters and numbers of any length.
Can I print barcodes directly from my Shopify export?
Yes! Export your "Inventory" CSV from Shopify. You can upload that exact file into our bulk generator. Our system will read the Variant SKU column and allow you to generate labels for your entire catalog instantly.
Which barcode format should I choose for internal SKUs?
We highly recommend selecting Code-128. Because most internal SKUs contain letters, hyphens, and numbers (like TSHIRT-RED-XL), Code-128 is the most reliable format. If your SKUs are 100% numbers, you can also use Code-39 or EAN-13.
